On Oct. 30, Rice hosted the opening ceremony for the Rice University National Security Research Accelerator (RUNSRA) laboratories. Launched in 2019, the partnership with the Army Futures Command and the Army Research Laboratory represents a new model for collaborative research working on mission-critical technologies. RUNSRA’s goal is to enhance national security by accelerating the discovery, development and transition of technologies into military and civilian applications through scientific and engineering collaborations with academia, business, industry and government partners.
